When I was about 4 years old I was convinced that the red and yellow reflectors on metal poles that you see by the roadside were really lollipops. I really really wanted one of those lollipops and used to beg my parents to please stop and let me get one. Boy was I disappointed when they finally caved in one day and let me try to get a lollipop...

When I was about 5 or 6, I believed that there was a paintbrush with yellow paint on it underneath our car that would paint the yellow dashes on the road on highways. I searched under our car many times when it was parked, but I never saw any paintbrush or a paint can. This probably came from the fact that I was always stuck in the back of the car on road trips.

My sister is 10 years younger so she was 6 when I started driving, and everytime I was at an intersection with lights and turning, she would start getting upset because I was going through a red light. Thing is I wasn't going through a red light, except that when we were turning she would see the red light for the traffic going the opposite direction and think I was not obeying ALL of the lights.

If I saw a spotlight beaming into the sky, I used to believe an airplane was lost and they were searching for it. Later in life I learned the beams of light were from spotlights used for commercial purposes, like a grand opening of a store, etc.

I used to believe that you were allowed to drive as fast as you wanted through tunnels. I still believe it was my dad who told me this, he refuses though...
I used to believe when I was younger (10 or so) I thought that aeroplanes were flying cars. I believed this because they had their lights on (not just the flashy ones), and they looked like car head lights. I pointed it out to my dad one day and said, "look, a flying car". He explained that I was wrong and why. I was so embarrassed. Yet I think that it is funny to this day.

I remember I was very little and we were driving in to a ferry with our car. The boat opened and it had big teeth! I was so scared and cried, I didn't want to be eaten by the boat.

I used to believe that the car would tip over going around corners. I was sure that all the passengers had to make sure they were evenly distributed in the car so that it would stay on the road!
I used to believe…
When I was a kid and I saw something like "V6" or "V8" on the back of the car, I thought it was the battery voltage. I always wondered why the huge car battery only puts out 6 or 8 volts...I mean, a little 9V battery is more powerful than that, right? I was so proud that my R/C car had a 12-volt battery. It was obviously way more powerful than any of the real cars I'd ever seen!

When I was a kid I thought that the handbrake would stop the car dead in it's tracks no matter what, and whenever I saw a car skid into something on TV I'd say "He shoulda used the emergency brake..."
I used to think that when you put your flashers on in your car, it tells you which way to turn. Like if you wer ever lost, the flashers wold come on telling you which way to go. =P

when i was younger, i believe that there were little elves who lived in the traffic lights, however, they would be fast asleep with their feet on the button that would put on their light. I believed that when the red and yellow light came on at the same time it was because one of the elves made a mistake whilst asleep and pressed his button at the wrong time and that he would get in alot of trouble when he woke up..poor guy..

When I used to drive around with my mom, we would stop at traffic lights, (Like everyone on the road usually does), but I thought that little mice lived inside the light bulbs, so I would yell at the "mice" to turn the light green.
I thought the reason only adults could drive was that their legs had to be long enough to reach down through the floor of the car to the ground, like in the Flintstones.
I used to believe that there were little men inside traffics lights changing the colours...only because my dad told me there was..
