I used to believe…
My Dad convinced me that the button on the top of the emergency brake in the car, if pressed, would eject him from the car through the roof, and leave me in danger in a car with no Daddy driving it. I guess this kept me from pressing it, but its a good thing I never got angry with him.
I used to believe that little, skinny men lived inside stop lights and looked out through a tiny hole and changed the lights manually

From when I was like 3 to 10 I used to think that there was a HUGE room with little moniters in it and there was one guy in a swirly chair with wheels and he controlled the lights. When I was like 7 I realized this was impossible I concluded that his chair automaticly went to the next light that needed to be changed (by magic of course). This soon made me think that only one traffic light in the whole world changed at a certain time.

When I was 4 I used to believe that the car knew where we were driving to and that the turn signals told us which way to trun.

When I was 12 on our way to Myrtle beach, South Carolina (our yearly vacation) my grandparents told me about something called the "flight mode". They said that all cars had it, and whenever you needed to get somewhere in an emergency you could turn on the flight mode switch and your vehicle would automatically grow wings. This way you could get to where you needed to be, fast. But it was only good for one time, and after that your car was basically useless. I believed this until I was 13 O.o

I remember the strange look my mum gave me when, waiting at the lights i said "come on little traffic light man, press the green button!"

When I was about 6, my brother once told me that, if he were to press the button you use to take your seatbelt off, the car would start driving at an enormous speed.
For four years, I was terrified of sitting in a car with him, because he threatened to make us crash into a wall.

I used to think when you went in an airplane, you would get really tiny, because when I would see them in the sky, they would be really small, from being so high in the air. The first time I got on one, I asked my mom "When are we gonna get tiny?"
I used to think there were little people inside traffic lights who could see when a car was coming and it would make the light turn red, otherwise it would always be green.

My older brother wanted to keep me from sticking my head out of the citybus window, so he told me that the driver had a button that would electronically close the window and chop my head off. I was 4 years old, and believed this for several years.

I used to believe that my parents relied on me to make the traffic lights green. I would do this by absorbing the green from trees and grass with my eyes and beam it into the traffic lights. If i was given enough time i had a 100% success rate.
i used to think that whoever got up the earliest decided which way to drive on either side of the road. i then thought i had this figured out, but the i saw a video from England (I live in the U.S.) and the people were driving on the wrong side. i then went back to my theory of the one who gets up first decides which way to drive.

When I was little I use to believe that the highway signs "Park N Ride", for car pools, meant that there was a place to park ahead and go on carnival rides. I use to beg my parents to stop for the "carnival" and they would look at me as if I was crazy! I still get a kick out of those signs.
