When I was a kid my older brother and his friend told me that the white stripes planes leave on the sky was the tracks after Jesus had been skiing across the sky. I believed it and told all my friends at school......
My Dad told me that toilets on planes were on the wings. I spent my first flight ( aged five) worrying that If i went for a pee I would fall off and be lost forever.
I was sitting in a plane once and convinced myself that if I looked hard enough at the clouds that I would be able to see the angels playing on the clouds.
I used to love to look out airplane windows at the clouds. I believed that if I jumped out, I would land on them and they'd be slightly bouncy and feel like cotton.
I had an Aunt and Uncle that were missionaries. We used to go to the airport a lot when I was younger to either see them fly into the States or back to Africa. I just though Africa was in the clouds and airplanes took them there.
i used to believe that when my nan used to go on holiday she used to go sun bathing in the clouds because no1 ever explained to me that her plane landed at the other end.
My earliest memory of being on a plane was from when I was about 3 years old. I asked my mother if she would let me get out and play in the clouds. I thought they were something solid that I could walk on.
I used to believe that all commercial passenger planes carried missles and bombs just in case they got into some trouble they could fight thier way out.
I used to believe that the planes flew by the engine but now I know that they fly , because the wings with the air and the pressure (differents air pressure) produce the lift
When I was a child I used to believe that airplanes could take you to the moon just because they were near the sky all the time. My dad broke my heart when he told me that wasn't true.
I used to believe that when you flushed the toilet on an airplane it would promptly exit the rear of the plane.
i used to believe that planes did not fly the ground just moved.
I used to belive that when you push the flush button on the airaplane toilet a hole would open in the bottom of the airplane and shoot everything out, so I used to push the button and jump back so I wont get sucked in..
Thats how I explained the noise and the air presure
I also belived all the poop and pee would shower down on the people below and I asked at the airlines once, did I get some weird stares or what!
i used to think that when a plane was flyin over if we would yell ice creaam really loud they would drop me and my older sis ice cream i wasnt the brightest kid
I was 10 when going to Italy on my first flight, and nearing towards the end of the journey the plane literally dropped and shortly after we were coming in to land, well zoom forward 13 years and now going on my second flight and to the USA this time, it was a fantastic flight, but after landing I was slightly disappointed that we hadn't dropped vertically before the landing, what I hadn't realised was that on my first flight it was likely we encountered turbulence and the plane had probably fallen a few hundred feet, I honestly thought the plane dropped from the sky until it was low enough and then just glided into the airport!!! Doh!
I used to believe that the jets that left smoke behind them were making clouds for days when there weren't any clouds and we needed them.
When I Was About 7, My Friend Told Me That While She Was On An Airplane, She Waited Until They Were High Up Into The Clouds And That's When She Opened Up One Of Side Windows And Pulled In A Piece Of Cloud. I Sort Of Believed Her Because She Described It The Exact Way I Imagined It Would Feel; Like Wet Cotton.
I use to believe when I saw an airplane in the sky my grandparents were on it and would see on the ground and wave hi. I would wave back and do that with all airplanes.
If I saw a spotlight beaming into the sky, I used to believe an airplane was lost and they were searching for it. Later in life I learned the beams of light were from spotlights used for commercial purposes, like a grand opening of a store, etc.
my parents told me just before i went on my first plane ride that elephants flew behind the plane, pushing it along (Dumbo) and that i had to peddle to help them. When i boarded i paniked at the absence of footpedals and told a startled stewardess and a few passengers off for not helping the poor elephant. They also told me that the expression "paid peanuts" was what they gave the elephants in return for their services!
