When I was younger I used to wonder how the gas tanks at the gas station could hold so much gas and so many different kinds because they were so small.

I used to believe that whenever you travelled in a car, it wasn't actually the car that was moving, the eart was just on a giant treadmill and the land was being pulled out from underneath you.

When I was little, my brother convinced me that the third pedal on a car (the clutch) actually made traffic lights turn from red to green. He would wait until the light was about to change then press the clutch. Sure enough, the light would always turn.

I didn't figure this one out until college. Sad, I know.

I was told by some neighbor's kids that there was a hole under the driver's seat of my dad's truck and in the hole there was a huge floating fire and then if you went through the fire you would fall onto the road and die instantly. I started crying when they stuffed my teddy bear under the seat and I tried to save him but was afraid to die. Luckily, my dad found out a couple hours later and told me they were kidding.

When I was about four, my mom would snap her fingers, and turn on the windshield wipers and then she'd snap her fingers again and turned them off, and claimed she was magic. I actually believed her!

When I was out playing with my friend, and we heard a really loud car go by, I'd yell, "Get a muffler!" And then a friend of mine was talking to my mom, and asked her if she would rather have a Mustang or a Muffler. Sheþ=“Öught Muffler was a type of car!

On one of the meters on my dad's car, one of the sides had the word "brake". I asked my dad what would happen if the arrow went to it, so he jokingly told me the car would break. So, I spent most of my car rides as a child worriedly watching to make sure the arrow never went to "brake".

I thought that some government official was monitoring your air conditioning usage in the car and would bill you for it every time you turned it on because my mom said that if you push the "A/C" button, it would cost you more money.

I used to think that if I leaned on the car door on the side that we were turning, my weight would make the car roll over.

I used to think that when we went somewhere in a car, the car would actually stay still and the earth would move until our destination came to us.

When I was 5, I thought that if someone driving a car was pulled over by police officers three times, they were arrested and taken to jail. I had also saw a commerical on T.V. for premium gas, where there was this car and it was going really fast into the horizon.

Well, one time at the gas station my dad was buying premium gas for the car, and I started to cry because I thought that the premium gas would make him go too fast and get pulled over, and I didn't want him to go to jail for getting his third ticket.

When I was young (5-6) I was terrifed of going to the automobile repair shop. I had heard people refer to them as "THE BODY SHOP" and I was positive that no good could come of going to a place that stored dead bodies.
