When I was little I used to believe that the blank pages at the end of the book were for writing a different ending if you didn't like the original ending to a book.
I used to think the phrase "Cats have nine lives", meant the reincarnate nine times. So some things involving the phrase confused me.

When I was little my mum and dad told us kids that the tooth fairy took our teeth from under our pillows to make false teeth for our grandad.
From age 3 to about 6, when people said, "shut the door, you'll let a draft in," I thought drafts were huge, stealthy, pale-grey bats that must be kept outside at all costs.
