A childhood belief about films

my uncle happens to look very much like steve martin, and he does the odd commercial or bit part in a movie. Until I was about 8 I thought that my Uncle Rich was in Father of the Bride and it was just common knowledge in my family and no one mentioned it. I thought his other name was steve martin.
