Believe it ot not...this happened while I was a Junior in High School. I was walking down the hallway between classes with a group of my friends (girls). One of them asked the group in general if anyone was a virgin. Being a good Catholic girl, I immediately thought of the Virgin Mary and loudy exclaimed for all to hear, "Of course not, I am not a virgin!". (I was stunned that anyone would think they were as good and holy as the Virgin Mary).
Well, everyone laughed hysterically including the two teachers who turned around to look to see who made that statement and smiled (knowing that I was naive and did not know what I was saying).
My friends, when they stopped laughing hysterically, clued me in....Then, my face got red and I was glad when the bell between classes finally rang and I could escape everyone in the hall who were laughing! Needless to say, I never responded so boldly again to any questions about which I knew nothing!
