I have no idea where I got this, but I heard somewhere that if you stood on the train tracks, you would not be able to hear the train coming. It still scares me to cross the train tracks, though I'll do it just to prove myself wrong. (I'm 21!)
A childhood belief about trains

others believed things like this
- i used to believe that if you put a penny on a train tracks that it would derail it — ROSS
- For some reason, I used to believe that women only got raped on train tracks.
— Jessica Tinch - i used to believe that the "fast lane" actually had some sort of tracks on it that made you go faster.— erin
- My mom would tell me to stay off the railroad tracks because the trains were silent and super fast.— Roger
- when I saw a sign with a deer on it I always thought deer had to cross the street by it. like a cross walk— only me
- i used to believe (because my dad told me so) that AM stood for "awful music" and FM stood for "fine music"— skydvgrl
