I could never understand as a little kid why my grandma, on long shopping trips to various stores around town, would say that she didn't have enough money for something. After all, every time she paid at a register, they gave her back more bills and coins than she gave them, right? Didn't that mean she had more money as the trip went on?
A childhood belief about money

others believed things like this
- that people in shops gave you 'change' if you didn't quite have enough money to pay.— suzy
- that the money I gave at sunday school would go straight to God.— christine
- i thought an ATM machine was something which gave free money!!— Armani
- I used to believe that banks were owned by rich people who gave away their money.— Lyssa
- I used to think that ATM machines just gave out free money when you needed it. Ahhh if only...Anon
- When I was a child I used to believe in the little mouse Perez, who gave you money for teeth.
