When I first heard the expression "going right to your thighs", I thought that meant that instead of cellulite, there'd be chewed-up food that didn't even go into your stomach or intestines stuffed between your skin and your muscles. Even to this day, I'm still grossed out by the expression.
A childhood belief about eating

others believed things like this
- I thought the expression "so funny I forgot to laugh" was literal instead of sarcastic— Not so funny after all
- I used to think that the expression "The former or the latter?" was actually "The farmer or the ladder?" — Fitzwilliam
- I forgot the expression "not cricket", so I said, "not tennis" instead.Anon
- My friend told me she had invented the expression 'Gordon Bennett' and I believed her!— SueE
- i used to think that when you ate food it went into your heart not your intestinesAnon
- I used to be scared that if I chewed my cuticles and swallowed a piece of skin, I would become a cannibal. Anon
