'I pledge-a-ma-legiance to the flag of the Ba-nighted states of america. And for the restarded where richard stands, one nation, under guard individiual with liberty and justice furall.'
I was like 7 and this is what I thaought it was, and I never new what any of it meant, just a bunch of words out together.
I did enjoy saying, though it made no sense.
A childhood belief about the pledge

others believed things like this
- i used to always wonder how one national guard could always guard the entire nation.— karen ellis
- I used to think "from which it stands" was "for Richard Stans".
— cobra - Through second grade I always concluded the pledge with '...indivisible, with liberty and just a straw.'— George
- I used to believe that every nation in the world were states of U.S.A. . Sometimes I still do.Anon
- I used to believe that America was one of the states of the United States.— Limor
- I thought the Pledge of Allegiance was "to the United Steaks of America," and that we were saying it to cows.— bessy
