In the old Jerry Reed song "Amos Moses" there's a line, "about 45 minutes southeast of Thibidaux Looziana..." For about 10 years I thought they were saying "Tippy Toe". I figured it out after I moved to New Orleans in my mid-20's.
A childhood belief about misheard lyrics

others believed things like this
- I used to think that New Orleans was in Los Angeles, because I'd seen addresses written "New Orleans, LA".— Hilary
- When I was little I used to believe that comedian Jerry Lewis and rocker Jerry Lee Lewis were the same person.— Paul
- I similarly thought that "Proud Mary" included the lyrics "pumped a lot of tanks down in New Orleans."— Larry
- I used to believe that if you were Caucasian you from New Orleans because they eat cajun foods.— Serena
- I used to believe that the Bible was written by Moses, with God whispering everything in his ear, in English. — Jj
- i thought the line "saving my face" from the KT Tunstall song of the same name was "shaving my face"Anon
