I was the laughing stock of my family when i was younger whenever i sang along to my favourite 'Paul Young'...in one of his songs there was the line 'whenever you go away, you take a piece of meat with you' or so i thought! I now know that its actually 'part of me' but i think my version is much better!!!
A childhood belief about misheard lyrics

others believed things like this
- for my little sis -
Paul McCarty song "Band on the Run" but when she sang it it was "Man has the Runs"Anon - When I was a kid, I thought the musical Mamma Mia did songs from the A*Teens (the teenage version of Abba)Anon
- That at meetings adults sat on plastic chairs surrounding a large piece of meatAnon
- I used to hear "Everytime you go away, you take a piece of Meat with you"
Makes a nice light snack I spose.— Linda - When you are very poor you "can't make end's meat." End's meat is some sort of cheap very low quality meat.— Betty
- My parents used to have an old radio. I thought it could only play old songs, like from when they were young.— kathy
