When I was about 3-4 years old I used to think that I could remove my baby brother's head just like I could with my action man!

Me and my sister had this toy phone that played generic recordings when you pressed a button--They were in a girl's voice. When the batteries started to die every once in awhile, the voice would get slow and deep. We just thought it was a man picking up the phone instead of the girl.

When I was young, my evil cousins would tell me the story of the China doll that wouldn't die! She was an evil doll from China that murdered the family that purchased her. For years I heard different versions, but all of them ended in scary fashion. To this day I cannot stand to look at any Oriental dolls and if I happen to catch sight of one, I have this compelling urge to run by it as fast as I can.

my mom used to tell me that if you actually fed those baby dolls that were designed to eat and poo, etc... they would get worms.

When I was very young, I saw a Vincent Price movie called The House of Wax. The one part I vividly remember is when he was trying to fix the eyes on a wax figure he was carving by removing them, there were real eyes underneath - it turns out his dead girlfriend was under the wax. I had one of those dolls that had their eyes closed when they were layed down, and would open when you sat them up - every time I looked at the doll's open eyes I thought there was a real little head inside the doll head. That doll stayed facedown with a big book on her head for a LONG time.

I used to put my teddy's in a bin liner at night so that if there was a fire i could just throw then out the window to save them.

I used to believe that all my teddy's had feelings and that if I didn't kiss all of them goodnight then the ones left out would get offended. I drew up a roster of which teddy's got kissed each night for a week so it would be fair.

When I was little, I used to think that the stuffed animals that weren't on my bed would get jealous of the ones that were. So I would rotate them so they all got a chance to be on the bed.

When I first saw Toy Story, I freaked out. When I was very young, I believed that everyones toys and other inanimate objects were all alive.I thought they were just hiding because they didn't like humans. I would try to talk to them for hours to make them like me enough to come alive, but to no avail.

When I was about 8 years old, around 1983 or so when the Smurfs were all the rage, I actually believed Smurfs were real. I even tried to look up the word "smurf" in the dictionary, but to no avail. Oh well. I got over it, though. :)

When i was in about 1st grade I used to play with my lil Fisher Price people in the kitchen where mom always was. Slowly my pile of people shrunk. I never knew why. When i was in high school my mom informed that after i was done playing i wouldn't get them all and they slowly died in the oven. Til there were no more.

I use to believe that when I went to bed, all my toy dolls would play at night and would jump back in the toy box before I got up in the morning!
I was convinced of this because I had a clown doll that sat on a box, and every morning he was tilted a little or just not in the exact position as when I went to bed...and I always checked him before I went to bed!

I used to believe the Care Bears lived in the clouds above my house. My friend and I used to play on my swing set and we thought if we swung high enough, we could swing into the clouds and visit the Care Bears.

When I was a little girl, I used to have a gorgeous teddy bear called teddy, and my mum said that if i got my hair trimmed regularly it would grow. So I thought if I cut my teddy bears fur it would grow as well, so every week I cut his hair, but it did not grow!! so I had a rather bald teddy!!!!!!!!!!

That my My Little Pony doll could grow it's hair after I cut it. Later I found out that it was two seperate dolls.

My grandma made matching rag dolls for my sisters and me, each with a different eye color so we could tell the dolls apart. My doll's eyes were a spooky-looking light green that kind of freaked me out. I wondered if my grandma was watching me through the doll's eyes - had she purposely given me the spooky-eyed one so she could spy on me? I told myself that this was nonsense; the eyes were embroidered on. But I still couldn't help imagining some kind of microscopic camera hidden in the thread.
