Until just today, as a matter of fact (I'm 22) I thought Phil Collins was American...because he didn't have an accent when he sang!!! I found on this site that he's British! :D

Once I was watching Janet Jackson's "Miss You Much" music video. My sister came in and proudly announced: "I always KNEW that Michael Jackson is gay! In this video he looks exactly like a girl!"

WHen I was little I had this poster of Michael Jackson on the back of my bedroom door (it was a thriller poster). At night when the moon would shine on it, I felt that Michael's eyes were following me and it creeped me out.

During Catholic school I was under the impression that everyone in the United States was Catholic. This same time I believed all musicians and 80s glam bands lived in California. I merged the two concepts and would daydream about a west coast church with multiple live performances from all its celebrity parishioners.

Before I had ever heard Andrea Bocelli sing, I thought it was a woman. After I found out it was actually an italian singer I liked his music and bought his cd. When my little brother asked who he was I told him he was a singer and that he was blind, my brother, inocent as he was asked "How does he know what to sing if he can't read the lyrics"

When I was about 8, I heard my sister and her friend talk about some rapper who had been shot (probably Tupac). for some weird reason I thought they were talking about Puff Daddy (P. Diddy) and so I thought he was dead. you can immagine my confusion when I heard of P. Diddy a few years later.

There was a note in the credits of a Disney movie I saw as a child that said some of the singers who had performed songs for the film appeared "courtesy of Columbia." I didn't realize that Columbia was a recording company (nor would I have understood about contracts if I had known), and I thought they were talking about Colombia, the country. I was sure these singers must be amazingly important people if Disney had to get the whole Colombian government's permission to use them!
