When i first saw the silverchair - freak video, i thought daniel johns (the singer) was the guy from hanson but grown up.
Before I had ever heard Andrea Bocelli sing, I thought it was a woman. After I found out it was actually an italian singer I liked his music and bought his cd. When my little brother asked who he was I told him he was a singer and that he was blind, my brother, inocent as he was asked "How does he know what to sing if he can't read the lyrics"
I used to think the Back Street Boys were black. I also thought Seal was a boy band.
I used to believe the word prima donna meant anytime before "Madonna" was born. Man was I stupid.
When I was about 8, I heard my sister and her friend talk about some rapper who had been shot (probably Tupac). for some weird reason I thought they were talking about Puff Daddy (P. Diddy) and so I thought he was dead. you can immagine my confusion when I heard of P. Diddy a few years later.

i believed that Marilyn Monroe turned into Marilyn Manson when she died, because my grandma said that she was bad and i thougt bad people were always ugly!

There was a note in the credits of a Disney movie I saw as a child that said some of the singers who had performed songs for the film appeared "courtesy of Columbia." I didn't realize that Columbia was a recording company (nor would I have understood about contracts if I had known), and I thought they were talking about Colombia, the country. I was sure these singers must be amazingly important people if Disney had to get the whole Colombian government's permission to use them!
when i was little, I used to think the Rolling Stones were black, because Dad listened to them as well as black performers. When I saw a video, I asked every1 if they knew the Stones were white.I didnt realise theyd been around 4 years before I was born....I got strange looks from everyone. a compliment to Mick, Im sure
When I was 4 I got a britney spears CD and there was a small hair on the CD, I thought it was britney spears's, and refushed to beleive it was mine.

when elvis died, everyone was really upset. i asked what was going on, amd my mum told me a singer died from drug over taking. from then on i assumed ALL singers die from drug over taking.

When people said about Stevie Wonder being blind I thought it was a reference to his choice of clothes. It was only when I was about 13 the penny dropped.

I used to think Kenny Wayne Shepherd and the oldest Hanson boy were the same people. Now I just call him Kenny Wayne Hanson.
In the early 1960s there were radio and TV ads for Frank Sinatra concerts. I didn't know who Frank Sinatra was. I thought the ads were saying Frank's in opera. I had only a vague idea what opera was, but I had no idea who this Frank was who was in the opera.
