Does anyone remember the 'Chipmunks' singing group? My mother believed they were real chipmunks who had been taught to sing!

Shortly after David Soul hit the UK charts many years ago, I started hearing about a new type of music called 'Soul' music.

I didn't like his song, but was impressed that he seemed to have fathered an entire genre.

When I was younger, I used to think that Michael Jackson and "The Artist Formally Known as Prince" were the same person, and no one bothered to tell me different!

My brother and I were utterly fascinated when Micheal Jackson would do the Moonwalk, and we tried for hours to get it down ourselves, but we were never able to, so we were convinced that he was a wizard. When my eldest sister went to a Jackson concert one year, my brother and I pleaded her to not go because "he would put a curse" on her. Now, I'm still scared of him, but for different reasons.

Now I feel really really dumb saying this, but until i read another belief on here, I thought Prima Donna was Pre-Madonna. Ex. Someone who is trying to be as popular as madonna. That made sense to me!

When I was in middle school I thought that Marrilyn Mason was a girl country singer because a friend of mine who listened to country said he listened to Marilyn Mason. I was threrefore totally embaressed when one day in 8th grade someone was saying something about Mason and I said "I don't listen to her because I hate country" My huge mistake was pointed out and I've never been able to live that down.

When I was little, the New Kids on the Block were really big. Anyways, everyday I went to the bottom of my drive way and looked down the street to the next block, because I thought they lived on my block and would just be walking down the street.

Recently when they were advertising the movie "Scary Movie 3" my little brother (6) was watching when they showed a clip of a Michael Jackson look-alike screaming. He turned to me and asked "Why is that lady screaming?"

When I was 11 and 12, I used to love The Monkees (corny 60s band) so much that I prayed I could travel back in time just so I could meet them. Obviously, my prayers weren't answered because I'm still here, about a decade later....

Also, my parents don't really like the Beatles and I just couldn't understand why when I was a kid (about 6 or 7). So to put to rest my confusion, I decided that my parents had at one time been good friends with John, Paul, George, and Ringo and had had a huge argument which led to them never speaking to one another again.

Yeah, I was an imaginative kid.

When I was little I honestly believed that the 80s pop band Spandau Ballet were actually called Spandex Ballet, I told some teachers at school and they laughed loads but I was unaware about what I said
