I used to believe what I was drawing in my book became reality. Indeed one day I draw one beautiful bed and my parents bought this bed.

But one day, I draw a lot of money and this drawing didn't realize because I'm still not a very rich man.

When I was a little girl, I used to believe that if I dug a hole in the floor I could cross the planet and arrive in China to travel all around the country and after, dig some other holes to go to all countries of the world.
So to check if it was true or not, I tried it in my garden but it wasn't a great success and besides my parents thought that there was a mole !!

I used to think there were 52 states beacause I thought there were 50 continental states plus Hawaii and Alaska I beilived this till I was 9

I remember as a kid being totally confused by those "give a penny, take a penny" trays. I thought you were supposed to put a penny in and take another penny out and didn't see the point of it.

I have often had strange associations with country names, like Kosov sounding like cassava, and macadamia sounding like Macedonia. There are many other Slavic or Balkan country names like this, such as Turkey and Hungary, that certainly does it for me.

If you lost a Presidential election, you had to leave the country. This came from me mishearing the words "lead the country" from a TV ad talking about the election that was going on back then.

When I was 8, I thought I could become a multi-billionaire by selling a bunch of cups and magazines that were in my house. The reason I wanted this is because I wanted massage chairs that vibrated.

My cousin and I both thought Narnia was a real place when I was about eleven and she was about ten. I looked for it in my closet, and she thought a painting on my parents' bedroom wall actually came from Narnia.

When I was a child I used to believe that when I touched the floor cracks I would fall to the center of the earth.

When I was little I wanted to be an explorer. I figured 2D maps of the world were only showing half the Earth, because obviously the Earth is round, and that the other half hadn't been mapped yet. I wanted to be someone that discovered the other half of the Earth.

My parents told me that the lottery was a contest where the winner got a million dollars, and I mistakenly assumed that ALL contests had a prize of a million dollars. Imagine my excitement when, over the morning announcements, I heard my name being announced as the winner of the 2nd grade environmental poster contest. As I waited in the principal's office to get my prize, I imagined how proud of my parents would be of me when I came home that day with a million dollars. Alas, the actual prize of a free book left me disappointed, but at least I learned an important lesson that day.

When I was a little girl, I used to have a funny believe about traveling to China. My brother and I used to think that if we started to dig in the earth, we could arrive to China and see people from there. That was so strange because we tried to do it once, but of course we failed, that was so far from us. We used to believe that people from this part of the world traveled on this way and we could do the same. Now we know that we need to take a flight to get there. Very expensive!

I used to believe the Tropic of Cancer was a part of the world where lots of people got cancer. I assumed skin cancer must be especially common there, since I could see on the globe that it ran through the Carribean where it's so sunny.
I always felt really lucky that I didn't live in that part of the world.
