When I was 3 years old i used to think planes crashed every time someone threw up because of the extra weight. So it was summer holidays and my mum booked my family tickets to go to america. So we where in the plane enjoying the ride then my sister just happened to throw up.I stood up running up and down the plane saying. "the plane gonna cwash! the plane gonna cwash!". One of the passengers shouted "put a sock in it" so I took my shoe, stripped of my sock and put in my mouth. My mum picked me up kicking and screaming and forced me into my chair until we reached america. And guess what the plane didn't cwash

At night, when I was younger, I would see the jets and planes in the sky and never knew what they were because all I could see were the lights in the sky. When asking my dad what the odd lights were in the sky, he replied with "cars, going over huge bridges." Ill be sure to pass the cute myth along to my children one day.

when i was little my father would take a lot of business trips. I always believed (until I was 6 or 7) that the places he would go would be located within the airplane i.e. hong kong is at terminal two and seattle is in terminal three

When I was young my mother told me that airplanes would land on people roofs and lay eggs to have baby planes I of course said nooooo, so then she took me outside and there were egg shells all over the sidewalk I was convinced for a year that planes did lay eggs on peoples roofs

When I was really tiny, my parents told me that we were going on holiday in a plane and I was really excited. Getting on the shuttle bus to carry us to the plane, I started crying.

"But Mummy, you said we were going in an aeroplane!"

As a child I believed the sky was a solid blue layer. It was quite obvious therefore that vapour trails were where planes scratched the sky.

I used to believe that if you waved your arms to a helicopter in the sky it would come and land. Why would I think that?

My dad worked in alaska and had to go to the airport and board a plane in order to get to work. Every time he came home late at night, I would wake up and go to greet him. I was about 2, and I thought the plane dropped him off in our driveway.
My parents confirmed my thought... But this was obviously because they couldn't understand my question.

i have a friend who, until a few minutes ago, believed you couldn't use computers on airplanes because having them above a certain elevation would cause them to go haywire and intercept phone calls...i told him he was right, and if he ever sees anyone on a plane using a computer, to call a stewart/ess and have them throw it out a window.

I used to believe that aeroplanes were robotic birds that flew around really high and that their nest was at the airport where they would then eat more people because the people would walk right into what looked like their stomach!

When I was little about 3 or 4 I used to beleive that Planes ate pencils. We had a long commute to get to day-care every day so i would draw in the car and when ever a plane flew over i would start screaming and would hide all of the pencils! (We lived within 1 mi. of an airport so this happened every 5 min.)

My sister and I used to think that when you flushed the toilet on a plane a trapdoor would open and the contents of the toilet would be sucked out (because of the loud noise) and dropped from the plane. So everytime a plane flew overhead we'd run into the house or under a tree. Eventually a friend told us that that was not true. Instead we were told that everything is stored in the plane, and frozen into a cube of waste, and that sometimes this cube is accidently dropped from the plane, so we still ran from planes. I'm still not sure whether to believe that or not.

The first time I went on an airplane, I overheard my parents saying something about being "bumped" when you flew on an airplane, and I heard them saying you got wherever you were going faster if you were bumped. That was about all I heard. I had no idea what being "bumped" meant, so naturally, I assumed that it meant you were, quite literally, bumped to your destination. I figured that you got on the plane, and the plane got on top of a big trampoline, and the plane bounced so high that when you landed, you wound up where you wanted to go. Either that, or your family got on a big trampoline (without any plane or anything to keep you safe) and bounced to your destination along a big, long trail of trampolines. I wasn't quite sure how that got you there faster, though.

When I was young I was in an airplane I kept on pressing the recliner button and then suddenly we took off.I was very small then so I cried. For a long time after that I thought the recliner button was used for impatient passengers who wanted to take off early.

I used to be scared of airplanes because I thought that when we got to the destination,we had to parachute out. This persisted until I was seven, when I went to the Yucatan, when my parents calmed my fears. Looking back, now I think it would be cool to jump out of the Airplane.
