When I was a kid, the room of our house that I most seldom went in was my sister's bedroom. It was in a wing of the house that came closest to the house next door. So I've finally decided that echoes between our house and the one next door might explain the different sounds I heard occasionally when I did go in her room, like when my sister was away and I was preparing the room for other guests or something like that. Anyhow, on some occasions when I WAS in that least familiar room of the house, I would hear airplanes flying over. Not surprising, except that they seemed to make an eerily different sound from airplanes ad I'd ever heard them from anywhere else, including other rooms of the house. For quite some time that sound had me convinced that those were some strange and different kind of airplanes, whose flight routes took them over that corner of our house, but never over any other part of our house, and so I never heard them from elsewhere in the house. In trying to picture what kind of airplanes those strange and different ones might be, I for some reason pictured airplanes that could fly, even though they had no wings.
Well when i was at air ports I would always wonder what the other planes did Dad was in the military and said he went one upside down planes so I asked mom if that plane over there was an upside down plane (Pointing at the other porting station) She said yes and i was freaked from that day on!
When i was about 3 or something, I thought that an air plane would come park infront of your house like a car and you would go in it... i didn't know that there were air ports.. i remember waiting infront of the door saying wheres the airplane?? hahaha
While on vicodine and a an overseas flight I was sitting next to a lady. I was in a lot of pain from a facial surgical procedure and I told her I was going to take a little nap. I was out like a light and when I awoke (4 hours later) she said she wished she had whatever it was that I was taking. Then she asked "do you see the moon out there"? I looked out the window and said "no, but I see some kind of light close to our plane". She asked where I saw the light and I pointed to it asking what or where it was coming from. She said she saw the light but didn't know what it was. I got up and took a closer look and asked if she were sure she didn't know what it was. She assurred me that she did not know. I panicked and called for the attendant. I said that there was an object flying very close to our plane and I wondered if it were a UFO. Other people started to get up and one person said "those are the landing gear lights on the wing of the plane"
I remember believing that clouds where the exhaust fumes from airplanes.
While traveling from Germany to the USA, somewhere around Iceland, i looked out the window and the only thing out there were clouds. My mom spent about an hour trying to convince me that those were in fact clouds, and not snow - and no, you cannot get out and walk on that...
when i was younger i used to think that i could jump out of a aeoroplane and not get hurt
A cousin of mine used to believe that Guatemala was on a cloud. Every time we'd drop off grandma at the airport, the plane would go up to the clouds to guatemala. My cousin is dumb. lol
i once saw this freaky x-files episode where this guy gets all his blood sucked out of him by this monster thing that was living on the ceiling in aeroplane bathrooms. even now, i still look at the ceiling before entering the aeroplane loo.
when i was about 9yo. my mom came back to philippines from canada. she went home because she was going to pick us up. just then when we were on or way to the airport, my sister told me that i had to take my shoes off because the pilot didnt want his plane getting dirty. then we were boarding the plane and just before i went it in i bent down to take my shoes off and the flight attendant told me that i didnt have to take it off. but i was only 9yo. so i didnt have any idea what she was talking about, i held the line for about 5 min. and people were looking at me LOL
I thought the trail left by aeroplanes in the sky was Grotbags (of Pink Windmill fame) was coming to get me on a hoover!
When I was little, I used to beleive that hospitals were on an aeroplane! Boy was i one stupid kid!
a long time ago...
my dad always said that air planes were gaint birds that we would ride on. i would ask why dont they flap thier wings? and he would just say. thier wings are too heavy
until i was 10 i thought clouds came from the back of those commercial airplanes
When i am a child i used to believe to the plane, go the space because when i am go in a plane with my family, i see the plane is more heighr then the cloud. So i was say to my mom and she reponde no you are just in a sky. But i am believe to i am right and i dont see the sky because it's the night. And when i am more age's i am understand to is not the space but the sky and i think i am very stupid. And since then i have very difficult understanding that we were only in the sky .
I used to think that aeroplane engines are hugh rocket launchers. [similar to the jet fighters but much much bigger]
When I first went to the top of the St. Louis Arch (about 5 yrs. old) I thought I was in an airliner because of the small windows and the view of the city. Apparently I had completely forgotten the elevator ride to the top!
when i was younger we used to go on an aeroplane to visit our cousins. i had always believed that because they lived south of us, that they were on another level, ie below us. it never made sense to me that when we were in the aeroplane, we didnt fly down, and i never saw those other levels go past in the aeroplane!!!
When I was about 5 I listened to 'Hatchet' on tape and it made me think that I should never go on a plane with anyone because they'd die and the plane would crash in a lake and their head would rot...
When I was little, I use to think that the airliners really high in the sky were spaceships. I always wondered why the spaceships left trails of smoke behind them, especially because I was told smoke couldn't exist in space. Then one day my dad let me use his binoculars. I wanted to see what these spaceships looked like, but when I focused in on one, I was shocked to see that it was a regular old plane.
