I used to believe that when people would say, Never drink and drive, that you couldn't even drink soda or water. So one day, my mom was drinking a soda and I screamed, "MOM! What are you doing? You're drinking and driving!" She started laughing so hard that she almost hit the person in front of us.

When I was younger, I used to be really afraid that my dad was going to get arrested because he was "drinking and driving". I didn't realise that "drinking and driving" didn't include soft drinks ;)

When I was youunger about 7 years old, I visited a local Tim Hortin's with my mother where she preceded to go in and get a coffee. When she came back and started the car up, i looked at her and said in astonishment and disgust, "mom you aren't going to drink and drive are you?." She got a pretty good laugh out of that one.

After many school presentations about "Don't let your parents drink and drive," my mother was driving me to her friends house on some errand, and we had a cup of orange juice.

She got thirsty and picked it up. Now they didn't specify the word "Alcohol" in the presentation and so I freaked out and thought we were going to get in trouble!

Mom thought it was "funny."

I used to believe that my mom was a criminal. I didn't realize that "Drinking & Driving" was alcohol specific. I used to sit in the car and watch my mom drink her bottles of Diet Pepsi thinking of how BAD she was! I was always too terrified to say anything, and was so nervous that we were about get arrested!

I used to believe that the saying, "don't drink and drive" meant all drinks. So one day when my mother started up the engine with a can of diet coke in the cupholder, I looked at her very sincerely and said, "Mommy, you know you shouldn't drink and drive." SHe cracked up.

When I was little, I took drinking and driving, well literally. I would always get onto my Mom for drinking and driving, even if it was only coffee or coke.
Also, I fussed at my uncle for not having both hands on the wheel while he was driving...for some reason I guess I thought that the cops would stop you if both of your hands were not on the wheel!

When I was younger, after seeing all of those "dont drink and drive" ads on TV, I became upset when my father was behind the wheel with a can of soda. I said, "Dad! You're not supposed to drink and drive!"

One day my dad was drinking water while he was driving. I thought it was illegal. It is stupid that they say don't "drin and drive", they should be more specific.

when i was real little i believed that if you were to drink and drive with any beverage, you can get pulled over by the cops and get arrested. I would always tell my mom or dad not to drink their coffee while driving just so that they wouldn't get in trouble.

When I was probably about 6, I remember seeing ads on TV reminding people not to drink and drive. I didn't know what alcohol was so I thought this applied to drinking any liquids at all. So I was very shocked and worried when I went to the grocery store with my mom one day and she got herself a soda and opened it in the car while she was driving home! I thought my mom was going to get arrested for drinking and driving.

One family holiday we were driving along and we passed under a 'Drink Driving is a Crime' sign. My mother later pulled out a juice drink and offered it to my father who was driving. I completely freaked out because I thought my Dad was breaking the law because he was drinking (juice) while driving.

I was taught in school one day that drinking and driving was bad , but they never specified alcohol , so when my mom picked me up from school that day I immediatley told her to stop drinking the soda she had in her hand before she drove us home, or she would get pulled over by the police and go to jail.
