i thought that there were people with binoculars on every corner that had remote controls that changed the traffic lights but they wouldnt change the light until you gave them the secret sign so at every corner i would shoot the traffic light with my hand and if the little people saw me they would change the light

I used to think that there were little men that sat on the top of the telephone poles near intersections and watched traffic. they flipped switches that controled traffic lights.

My little sister used to belive, that little potato men controlled the stop lights. She thought that they would just push the buttons and the light would change. Whenever we stopped at a light she would wave. My parents just thought that it was nothing. One day my sister said that the potato men must be hungry, so she wanted to bring them some chips. It was only then that she realized, potato men didn't controll the stop lights

When I was about 4 or 5..up until i was about 7 or 8 I was always told that it was pigeons that changed the traffic lights to red amber and green. When i went out in the car with my mum or dad I'd always shout come on you stupid pigeons! if the light was red.

i used to think that mice worked in the traffic lights and pushed the red, yellow, and green buttons all day when they felt like it. and that was why each light we had to wait at was either longer or shorter than the other one.

I used to believe that there was only one light bulb for each direction in traffic lights and that little elevators were used to move the lights up and down to the red, yellow, and green windows.

i used to think that traffic lights were controlled by police men. i had a very clear image of police men sitting infront of a model version of the streets (which of course only consisted of my town) and pushing buttons, they'd say things like that little girl wants to cross the road lets stop the cars...

When I was a kid I used to think that the traffic lights were controlled underground by people in underground offices.

I used to believe that when we drove through the rain at night, a monster would climb on top of our car. And when we stopped at a red-light, he would get ready to attack, and only green-lights saved us. I got really nervous when I saw yellow-lights, because I knew it was about to turn red. It never occured to me that someone would of course see a big, harry monster riding on the hood of our car and call the cops.

I used to believe tiny people worked underground at stop lights, watching for cars coming and going. They were in charge of making the lights change color, watching through parascope like binoculars.

When i was little i used to believe that there were people watching all of the traffic lights in the world through cameras, and when there was enough cars backed up at a red light they would flip the switch to green and they would get to go, and the other side would have to stop.

When I was a little girl I used to belive a little man sat above the traffic lights and decided when they should be changed. When i started driving myself I figured out that was not possible.

I used to believe... that my mom had the ability to make the traffic lights turn green. Only later did I find out about the three second delay, which she waited for before asking the lights to change.

WHen I was a lil kid I used to always look up and see pigeons like on the traffic light post like when we were stopepd at a red light, and I thought that the pigeons follow the traffic lights laws also, lol

I used to believe that the traffic lights were controlled by gnomes in air balloons, and that if you asked the gnomes to change the color of the light they would. I thought there was someone inside the refridgerator turning the light on and off and I thought soap operas were reality TV.

Traffic lights were controlled by people in towers looking down at the streets. When there was a long line of people at a red light, the controllers would see, and switch it to green. I did wonder how it worked when the controllers left work, though.

This is my dad's explanation to me and my sisters when we were young as to why people stopped their cars at traffic lights: drivers like the sight of the red traffic lights so much that they stop their cars and look at them. They dislike looking at the green lights so much that when the light changes from red to green, they simply drive away.

I used to believe that some little guy lived on the traffic light and decided what cars can go and what cars can stay. So one day when I was walking with my mom I shouted at the traffic light to see if anyone was there. He didn't say anything so I thought he was deaf or he was busy.
