Dragonflies sew your lips shut

i used to believe that dragonflies sewed your fingers together and then sucked your blood

An eccentric woman on our street had mouth surgery once, and told the neighborhood children that the stitches in her lip were from a dragonfly and that dragonflies sew your mouth shut if you let them land on you. I believed this for years.

i used to beleive that if a dragonfly saw your teeth it would sew your mouth shut.i now beleive this is just the way my granny got the grandkids to stay quiet,but they are called the devils darning needle.
