When I was young, every Easter we sang a hymn in church which went "Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my saviour". I always thought the grown ups were singing "Low in the gravy lay Jesus...". To this day I can't sing it with a straight face!
A childhood belief about hymns

others believed things like this
- I used to blieve that the orange center of marshammow easter eggs was Jesus...— Hayley
- How could Baby Jesus be born on Dec 25th, get tall, grow a beard and then die, all by Easter. Whew!— Joe
- I used to believe that Jesus lived in the tower of the churchAnon
- Iused to believe the statue of Jesus was really him and our church got mad at him and nailed him up there.— The Fidiot
- When Madonna sang "let the choir sing" in "Like a Prayer", I thought she was singing "love by proxy"— Kristen
- I used to think that the priest at church was JESUS.
He had a beard.... it made sense— Joe B
