i used to believe that if you swallow a seed, it'll grow inside your body and up through your head. then you'll be walking around with a tree on top of your head. that's why people don't swallow seeds.

It was common knowledge when I was little that if you ate apple seeds a tree would grow and grow inside you until branches would be coming out of your ears. ALL the kids knew this!

When I was younger I use to believe that every seed of a fruit if planted would grow a tree. Soo when I ate a fruit I would immediately go to my back yard and plant it's seed . . . it must have been hundreds of seeds that I planted and not one grew into a tree :(. I was expecting a grand orchard . . . but got a scolding instead by my dad over all the holes that I was making in the yard.
