I used to think clouds were countries!
When it rain, i though God just threw a bucket of water to water the plants.
i used to believe that it was illegal for it to rain on Sundays ("Sun's" day). I couldn't quite figure out who would get arrested (possibly my minister at my church) but i knew that if i ever got rained on on a sunday that i would be a suspect.
when i was little, maybe 4 or 5...i really believed there was "a pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow...we would take long family drives, and if a rainbow was spotted , my mother would say keep looking for the pot of gold , and i would watch for the end of that rainbow, not taking my eyes off it...hoping to see one...lol
I used to believe that rainbows were like the Lottery. Every rainbow was supposed to have a pot of gold at the end of it and I always wondered whose yard it landed in after it rained.
My brother once convinced me that the wind was "leftover hurricanes"
I believe that it would rain when God would be having a shower or washing his clothes.
I used to believe that when the weatherman announced that there was a 30% chance of rain, it meant that it was going to rain 30% of the day. It always seemed to be raining during the summers of my youth.
I used to be convinced that rain happened when God was taking a shower; snow happened when God had dandruff; lightning was when the lightbulbs in God's house burned out, and the following thunder was when God got angry because the lights had gone out and then growled (or something like that) at them.
I used to believe that when it rained, GOD was peeing, and when it thundered, GOD was angry.
I used to think that the clouds moving makes wind.
when i was young i used to think hail was made out salt water, like from the ocean
I also used to believe that the song "Rain Rain, Go Away," could actually make the rain go away if sung enough times! Many were the times when I would stand by the window, dutifully, singing "Rain rain, go away, come again another day. All the children want to play... Rain rain, go away," etc. When the rain stopped, I used to think it was because of my singing "Rain Rain, Go Away." In my defence, I was only five at the time!
THE WIND CHILL FACTORY - OK.
I once asked my dad if the stars were the holes in the sky where the rain fell through - that's why it fell in droplets.
I used to believe that my choice of pyjamas to wear would determine the following day's weather.
I used to think if you walk far enough to the rainbow, there will be pot of gold
Back in kindergarden, my friend and me used to run after snowflakes, yelling at them. We imagined they would get frightened and thus multiply to "defend" themselves. And that was just what we wanted - the more snow, the better.
I used to believe that whenever it rained, god was pissing on the world.
My dad had me convinced that dark storm clouds were actually webs for monstrous "cloud spiders." The first time I flew straight into one of those clouds as a kid (dad was a small-plane pilot), I was terrified and convinced we were flying into a web. Dark clouds still freak me out.
