I used to believe my mom's friend's boyfriend was Jesus. He looked like the traditional pictures of Jesus we see in The Bible. I used to scream and hide whenever I saw him; I think because I was too little to comprehend that we knew Jesus!

I grew up with a Catholic grandma, who rarely attends mass, but has pictures and statues of Jesus and saints around the house. I always used to think that Jesus was scary, because in all of his pictures around the house he wouldn't be smiling and everytime I would pass this one picture of him, a motorcycle would drive by, and I would think it was him growling at me because I thought he was scary. I would also, although I was young and had never witnessed a Passion play or anymovie pertaining to Jesus or even see a crucifix, I would dream about things such as ancient Rome, Jerusalem, the crucifixtion, the days before the Resurrection, and a woman crying. I swear to this day, the Lord came to me and said "Do not be afraid of me, I love you" It wasn't until I was over my aunts house one day, I saw a plate with Jesus talking to children smiling that I wasn't scared anymore and started to understand.

I was raised without religion. When I was little, I heard other kids talking about christian stuff, and I thought it was a fairy tale or something. I was under the impresssion that when we died, religious people, who were crazy, believed we went to the enchanted forest and lived with Casper and Wendy and the Ghostly Trio. Even when I was a child, religion seemed totally nuts to me. Santa Claus seemed much more benign and believable.

I always pictured God as a very nice benign and smiling spider in the sky.

He was drawn like a stick figure daddy longlegs and his body was a sky blue circle with a smile on it.

i used to think that the newly added tar to cover up cracks in the roads was gods hair! My mom had always told me that god was everywhere and everything and so i would freak out when my mom drove on the tar!

When I was really young (less than 5 or 6) I always imagined God to be a guy with a helmet on. His helmet looked exactly like the helmet Shredder wears on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I only realized the resemblance a few months ago when they put the show back on the air. Interesting. ;)

I used to have dreams that God was a girl and that she was this big Nun in the sky. Then she would smile at me. This was the result in my mom telling me that God is watching us all the time.

When I was little I believed that jesus' 12 deciples were called prostitutes. So imagine my older sisters face when I said 'Lauren, tell me about Jesus and his 12 prostitutes'

After I heard that Santa did not exist, I believed that once I got older, my parents would tell me God did not exist either. I thought I should stop believing in God then, just to be ahead of the game.

My Uncle Randy is a pastor. When he talked about God creating us, I would always imagine Jesus sitting in front of an art easel painting a picture of some one before they were born.

In my house we always had a large family Bible. When I was little I always belived that the Book Luke was named after Luke Skywalker in Star Wars.

I'm from Louisiana (Yeah, I know, that says alot). There is a small town nearby called Rayne. Well, until I was about ten, I believed that was where God and Jesus lived, because of the line from Church that says "He lives in "rain" with you, forever and ever".

I remember watching my sister tell my mother (very seriously!) after coming home from our Christian daycare, "Mommy, I am not your child. I am God's child." She was apparently very angry that our parents had never told her she had been adopted from God...

I used to believe that God and Father Christmas were one and the same. When I was about 5, my siblings broke it to me that Father Christmas wasn't real. I think mum was farly shocked when I refused to go to church because God didn't exist.

That one took a while to clear up.

I use to believe that even God could see me naked, so I use to hide in my closet, get dressed and then either get ready for bed, school or hanging out with my friends. I later realized that God lives in my heart and not on my body.

When I was a kid, my brother and I bickered all the time. Anyway, when I was about 5 or 6, I was listening to a preacher on the radio who was talking about how Jesus had died for our sins. I asked my brother how Jesus died and he told me that Jesus had died in a car wreck. I believed that for a couple of years.

When I was about four, I went to Sunday School every week. Like most children, had heard the stories of "Baby Jesus" and "Baby Moses". I used to get them confused (almost like they were the same person) because they were both called "Baby." And I always said "Baby Moses" instead of "Baby Jesus" because I liked the way it sounded better!

When I was little, for some reason I thought that the Beatles were the apostles. Maybe because two of them were named John and Paul. I don't know where I got that from.

This iz really weird, but when I was little, I thought God looked like Inspector Gadget with a surgical mask on. I have NO clue why!
