If you swallow a seed a plant will grow inside you.

As a child I used to think that if you swallowed seeds from any kind of fruit or vegetable, a plant would begin to grow from your stomach and grow so big that it would soon kill you. This resulted in many painstaking hours sifting through meals to remove anything that resembled a seed.

When I was little I used to believe that if I ate grapes with the pips in that a grape tree would grow out of my ears. Imagine my horror when one day I swallowed one by accident! I spent the whole night worrying that by the time I woke up I would have the branches sticking out of my ears and that I would have to go to school like that!

Bad habit - swallowing olive pits, orange seeds, etc. We were told if we swallowed these, a tree would grow in our stomachs. If we bit and swallowed our nails, a finger would grow in our stomachs. Anything we ate, that we weren't supposed to eat, would result in the growth of the original plant/tree it came from.

When I was a kid, my mom told me that if I swallowed the seeds of an orange, an orange tree would grow inside my stomach and out of my head. So everytime I accidentally swallowed a seed I'd be really nervous for a couple of days, wondering if a tree was gonna grow out of my head.

I was super carefull eating oranges when I was 6 or 7 because my big sister told me if I mistakenly eat the seed I would grow trees in my sthomach. I used to seriously warn my friends not to eat orange seeds.

I used to believe that if people swallowed orange seeds, they would grow in their stomachs and very soon branches would come out of their ears. It happened that one day I accidently swallowed one. I remembered running to my Mom and asking her to take me to a doctor. At that time she told me that we should wait until the branches were visible and then she would hire a gardener to tend me! So I waited patiently for weeks. After some time,I decided that the orange seed I accidently swallowed was a bad seed.

when i as small my mom would tell me not to swallow grape seeds, or seeds of any kind actually, because a tree would grow in my stomach and come out of my mouth. i still have some fear that i've got a little tree in me.

I thought that if you swallowed a pip from a fruit, a fruit tree would grow inside you. One day I did swallow an orange seed, and had a miserable time thinking this was the end of everything. I suppose in time I just forgot about it.

i'm sure everyone was told this, that if you swallowed fruit seeds that fruit would grow inside you. When i was little about 6 or 7 i so strongly believed it was true that when i accidently swallowed a lemon pip i started screaming and crying and telling everyone i was goin to die..haha

so he ate an orange, swallowed the seeds, swallowed a handful of dirt, drank a glass of water and stood in the yard for a couple of hours with his mouth wide open pointing towards the sun.
