When I was little, my dad told me that I used to have a brother, but he got sucked up by a vacuum cleaner! I was scared of vacuum cleaners for years...

When we'd leave for our family vacation, the song "Up Up and Away" would coincidentally always play on the radio. My parents made me believe it was a sign we were going to have a good trip. I guess I never noticed the 8 track player.

My dad used to tell me he had blue blood like the queen. As proof he would point to the bright blue varicose vein on his arm and say, "See." For years I not only thought my dad's blood was actually blue but I believed I was somehow related to the royal family.

I used to ask my dad why he could tell me to do things, and he always told me it was because he is older than me, to which I responded "Just you wait until I'm older than you!"

When I was like 5 or 6, I could not understand why my little brother (who is four years younger) could have his birthday before I did - his birthday is in May, mine is in June. So I was convinced that he was actually older than me and my parents had just hidden him so I could be an only child for at least some time in my life.

When I was about two years old, my great-grandpa, who had lost a thumb, told me that my great-grandma bit it off. I wouldn't go near her for two years and she hated my great-grandpa for telling me that!

When I was about five, my parents told me that there was such thing as a trumpet lilly. They told me that this lilly, at 7 o'clock it would play the march of the valkyries (conveniently being my dads ring tone). So I asked them to put one in my room. Sure enough at 7 o'clock the march of the valkyries started playing. I woke up very excited thinking 100% that it was the lilly, my dad had just hidden his phone under my mattress and my mum called it at precisely 7 o'clock. I believed this until I was 11

When I was little I questioned whether or not I was kidnapped. This was because my mom had short hair, but in home videos of me as a baby, my mom had long hair.

When I was little, I fell out of my fathers truck, onto my knee, on our cement driveway. He pointed at the crack and told me the broke the driveway which made me laugh instead of cry. I just found out that I never broke the driveway in the first place, there had always been a crack. I'm 19.

When I was little, my dad would blow my lights out before I went to bed, as if you blew candles out. It took me a long time to realize he just switched the flip at the same time.

My grandfather had to have surgery for an intestinal problem when i was very young. He had a large growth, and told me it was because he accidentally swallowed a basketball. I had a bad habit of putting non-food items in my mouth at the time, and scoffed at him. when he came home from surgery, he gave me a deflated basketball. i never put a non food item in my mouth again.

When I was a small child my dad took me to see Buckingham Palace, the guards were outside and he told me that they were robots. It wasn't until 10 years later when I was 15 years old did I finally find out the truth..
