I always heard about how you shouldn't do drugs in school, and I always wondered why they didn't just make them illegal if they were so bad for you. I didn't know until I was about 12 that marijuana and such are indeed illegal.

I used to think that when there were police chases, the cop was racing the bad guy and if the bad guy won then he was allowed to get away and Visa Versa
I used to beleive that you would be put in jil if you didn't do what your parents told you to by the count of 1. I thought that they would just take you to jail and keep you there untill you died.
When I was about 6 I thought it was the funniest thing in the world to prank call 411. One day I called them and spoke in a French accent. When the man answered the phone, I asked, in French, if he spoke French, and was (unpleasantly) surprised to hear him say "oui," considering I myself knew no French beyond "Do you speak French?" He proceeded to ask me something in French. Not knowing what to do, I assumed that he was saying, "city and state please," seeing as that was what they usually said when you called 411. I replied, after a long pause, "Uh...Paris, France" and the guy immediately sighed and said, "Alright, for impersonating a Frenchman, that's a fine of $250 dollars..." Terrified, I hung up before he could even finish his sentence, and for at least two years after that, I lived in genuine fear of receiving a massive bill from the 411 people or being hunted down by the FBI. I never prank called 411 again.
I am from the UK and the first time we went to America my Dad told me that it was the law to salute a picture of the President of the USA whenever you saw one. I looked pretty stupid in the airport when I saluted a picture of Bill Clinton, and was really worried my family would be arrested because they didn't!
my brother used to think a serial killer was someone that put nails and stuff in your cereal. lol :)
I used to have a black and white striped shirt I was terrified to wear, because in cartoons, all prisoners wore black and white shirts.
I figured if I wore it and a policeman saw it, he'd think I'd have escaped from prison and would make me go back.
I honestly was terrified to wear it to school or anything.
When I was younger, I used to think that alcohol in beverages was the same as rubbing alcohol. Therefore, I pictured a group of gangmembers standing in a circle, passing around a white bottle that had rubbing alcohol in it.

I thought that serial killers had serial numbers like products did so the cops could identify them easier.
In kindergarten, it was really cool to ride the school bus without a seatbelt on. Naturally I never wore a seatbelt, unless we happened to pass a police officer, in which case I put it on as fast as possible. It took me YEARS to realize that even if five-year-olds could be thrown in jail for not wearing a seatbelt, there was no possible way he could see my lap from outside the bus.
Oddly enough, almost all the kids in my neighborhood thought the same thing.
I used to believe that cops' radar could see through your car... how else could they know that you aren't wearing your seatbelt? And sometimes when I would lay down in the back seat I would be afraid that they could see me and my mom would get pulled over. I even thought they would be able to see me picking my nose and laugh at me.

I used to think that you would get arrested if you didn't swing your arms when you walked in public
We used to watch " America's Most Wanted" and I pictured the killers and rapists outside seeing us seeing them and how they were bad and I thought they would come kill us so we couldn't tell on them, or find them.
When i was little my parents kept me in line by saying that if i was bad they would call "the baby police" and they had an old phone that didn't work hung up on the wall and my dad would pretend to call the baby police. i'm still a little uneasy aroungd cops
i used to believe when i was like 5 that serial llers only ate cereal so i used to watch movies and wonder why they werent eating cereal
I used to believe that if kids have money too much the police will caught them and put em in jail. That's sick...
Me and my friend think that Mini Pickles and Orange tic-tacs are drugged!!! We had ate tons of mini pickles and orange tic-tacs and we started acting drunk/high (aka laughing hysterically at everything and saying iGat, Gat apple stylie!" etc)
so to this day we think that pickles are cured in alcohol and tic tacs are orange pills.

I wanted to be a police officer as a kid because I believe police officer's couldn't die.
I used to be confused about the concept of speeding tickets. I figured that about 99% of people just threw these away and were never bothered by them again. So when my mom got a ticket when I was little I volunteered to "throw it away during cleanup time"
I was yet another one who believed serial killers were "cereal killers" until I was nine and my mom explained it. Though I didn't think they killed cereal (or killed with cereal). I have no clue why they'd be called cereal killers but it's just what I thought.
