I used to think Cleveland was a Scandinavian country like Finland and Iceland, and the capital of Georgia was Atlantis.

I could never understand as a little kid why my grandma, on long shopping trips to various stores around town, would say that she didn't have enough money for something. After all, every time she paid at a register, they gave her back more bills and coins than she gave them, right? Didn't that mean she had more money as the trip went on?

I used to think that all countries had the same money as the United States, because the only currency I knew about was the united states, I never knew about the other countries and that made me believe that the currency was the same in poland, japan, germany, etc.

I thought you could get banned from checking out books in a library if you accidently rip a page. Whenever I'd rip a page accidently, I would be scared when we had to return them, thinking I will never be allowed to check a book out again. Luckily that didn't happen!

I believed that they had polar bears in poland until I went there and asked "Wher's the polar bears?"

I used to think that German people had more germs than other people because they were "Germ"an.

So whenever I got a sticker from an employee at Walmart that has a german accent, I would get the hand sanitizer from my mom's purse and put it on my hands and the sticker and when they asked why, I would say that I do that so I wouldn't get any germs from him/her, as they have a german accent and that made me believe I would catch germs from them. I was 6 when that happened

When I was a child, I thought the world had 10,000 bank accounts, i.e. they were all numbered 0000-9999. It came from noticing that my parents entered a four-digit number at the drive-thru ATM. I was very analytical and logical as a child, and still am.

Me and my best friend used to think Warsaw was pronounced "War-sah" until one of our polish friends told us how it was really pronounced
