I always thought that you could take as much money as you wanted out of the ATM machienes, and when you ran out of money, you could just go and get some more. It never occured to me that that money was ours.
When I was little I used to believe that my mom could buy whatever she wanted just as long as she had checks...checks were just as good as money and you didnt need the actual money, just checks. It is still a common joke in my family to this day!
i use to think that when people put thier atm card in the machine that it gave out free money
I used to believe that as long as my parents had a checkbook and/or credit card they had money. What's funny is now my kids believe that also.
I used to believe that ATM machines just gave you as much free money as you wanted. Also, I had heard my dad talk about a "job" where he earned money. Therefor, I put two-and-two together and assumed that a "job" was where you took money out of an ATM machine. It confused me that he had to be gone eight hours a day to do this; when mom visited the ATM, it only took a few seconds. I concluded that mom was better at this "job" thing than dad, and wondered why she didn't go in his place every day.
i thought an ATM machine was something which gave free money!!
I thought that if you couldn't afford something, you could write a cheque. I confidently told my dad that when I grew up I would save all my money and just write cheques for eveything. He explained bank accounts and ruined everything.
I used to think that if you paid by cheque you did not have to pay from your savings to buy something. When my mother said she could not afford something I told her to pay by cheque.
I used to believe that as long as there were checks in the checkbook, there was money in the bank.
I too used to think that you could just write a cheque if you ran out of coin and paper money, and didn't understand how you could ever have no money. I used to say that when I grew up, I wouldn't waste my money on the things my parents bought, but would buy lots of toys and lollies instead.
I used to believe that checks were like free money, that you could write 1 million dollars on a check and you'd have a million dollars. I used to ask my mom to buy me toys, and when she told me they cost too much, I would ask her to write a check!
I thought, if checks could be used to buy anything, then why did we bother with money? We were RICH, and my parents didn't even realie it! Cha-CHING! Not sure when I learned the truth, but it was bitter reality at it's best...
i thought that my mom could write a check for anything she wanted cause it was the same as cash she wanted a red car and i couldnt figure out why she just didnt write a check for it
My brother used to believe that if you had a credit card the cashpoint gave you infinite amounts of money. You'd only needed to plot in our desired amount. No wonder why he is a bad economist...
When I was a little girl, I used to think that checks were like free money. When my mom explained to my sister and me that we were running out of money for that month, I suggested that she just write checks to pay for everything--problem solved.
