I still check my closet at night before I go to bed because my sister once told me that the one night that I didn't check then that would be the night that someone or something would be in there... and I don't want to take that chance!!

I can remember believing that bears were hiding in my closet, under my bed and in my dresser drawers. I used to rock the bed when trying to sleep. One night I must have rocked too hard and a glass figure got knocked off and broken. I was terrified, absolutely positive the bears did it and were waiting for me to get up so they could eat me.

In first grade, my friend told me at her grandma's house there was a cut off hand that lived in her closet and that it was her boyfriend. She continued to tell me that everybody had a hand that lived in their closet and soon it would be my boyfriend. I came home crying and telling my mom I didn't want a boyfriend to live in my closet!

When I was probably about 5-6 years old. My brother and sister, and I would play in the closet. It was a small closet, so we were able to climb the walls. So, we would climb up to the top, and sit on the shelf. Well, there was a big, rectangular, crack in the wall. We thought that inside the wall, was a secret playhouse. We would take a butterknife and try to open it up. So, we asked my dad about it, and he told us what it really was..which kind of crushed our dreams.

When I was younger my older sister (5 yrs older) told me that their was an evil stuffed animal stealer living in my closet so every night I before I went to bed I used to take all my stuff animals and hide them under my covers and hold them all so the evil stuffed animal stealer would not take them. I believed this for like 2 yrs needless to say I didnt get alot of sleep (their were a lot of stuffed animals to hide)

When I was ten, I liked to think that there were shmozits living in my closet. Shmozits are creatures that I made up that have the head of a tapir, the tail of a fish, the wings of a bat and long, bushy fur on their stomaches and backs. Oh yeah, and they'd live in your closet. Their diet consists of fish and clothing. The sounds they would make would sound exactly like that of a harmonica.

When I was about 6-12yrs. old I watched a freddy kruger movie and stayed up until 2am watching the news because I was scared! Finally I was really tired and decided to go to the bathroom b4 going to bed and looked up from my bed toward my door(and closet) I saw freddy kruger peeking out of my closet!! I freaked out grabbed my stuffed bunny rabbit told him I loved him for being so brave and threw him in the closet as I ran out of my room crying!! I went to my mom's room woke her up and was crying about how thumper was a brave bunny and how we had to leave!! All and all i'm still scared to sleep with a walk-in closet nearby esp. if the door is open!! I still make my b/f sleep next to the closet (i'm 19 by the way)

When I was 4, I use to tape my closet door shut and stuff stuffed animals under my bed believing that the boogieman can't get inside my room.

When I was little I would never fall asleep with my mouth open because I thought skeletons would come out of my closet and pour poison down my throat.

I used to believe that a large angry gorrila lived in my closet. I was justified in thinking this because when I was three my mom hid in the closet with a gorilla mask on, and when I came into the room she jumped out and yelled "Boogy Ooogy ooogy!"

When I was little I thought that there was a pirate in my closet, behind all of my clothes. I figured I was safe as long as my closet was kept closed at night. To this day, I still can't sleep if the closet isn't closed.

I made a bed out of balsa wood, with a foam mattress and sheets (I was a creative kid). I left it in the closet for the house gnomes. But they kept making the bed, so I never had proof they slept there. So I placed a note on the bed, "Please leave the bed unmade so that I know you were here. Thank you."

When I was around 6-7 I had turned my closet into my personal reading sanctuary. I used it daily for about a week when my brother informed me that when our house was built (1 year earlier), a worker had died, and they had buried him in the back wall of my closet. I was convinced there was a gooey corpse there for years and would pile up my clothes and toys against the door every night so he couldn't come alive and get me. Brothers can be such jerks...
