top belief!

I used to believe that there were monsters that lived under my bed. they were brown and looked like Grover from Seasame Street. I was so scared that I would run and jump on to the bed so they wouldn't grab me. Some nights I would not even get up to go to the bathroom because I was afraid they would get me. Sometimes I didn't flush the tiolet so that way if they came to get me my parents would hear my screams

I believed that after the lights were turned out there were monsters under my bed. None of the bedding could hang over the side of the bed because the monsters could grab hold and climb up into my bed. And if I got up in the middle of the night, when I went back to bed I would take a flying leap to get into the bed before the monsters could grab me (I was never awake enough to worry about it on the way to the bathroom).

When I was young, my mom would tell me, "If you don't keep your arms & legs under the covers all night long, there are monsters/gobblins that will grab them!!"

Now at 62, even tho I've known this is all bull since I was 5 or 6 years old and what mom did was to keep me covered and warm at night, I still think about it should I wake in the middle of the night and one of my arms/hands is hanging off the bed!! ;-))

When I was young, when it was dark, I used to believe there were monsters under my bed so I used to jump on my bed really quick, never hang my legs over the side and never look under the bed because I thought the monsters would grab you aqnd pull you under!

I was always afraid to sleep with my hands off the bed because I thought something would come out from under the bed and pull me under.

I used to believe that as soon as I closed my eyes in bed at night monsters and other crippy things came to attack me. And as long as I keep my eyes cloesd and stay under the covers I'm safe. Till this I don't close my eyes untill I'm fully tucked in. Just in case...

I believed, like lots of little kids, that there were monsters under the bed. I also had to turn out the light and then jump for the bed. Somehow, I determined that the monsters could only reach out two or three feet, so I would make my nightly mighty leap onto the bed so I would be safe. I also believed that it was extremely important not to let any body part hang over the edge of the bed... a hand, foot or whatever. The monsters would definitely be able to grab the overhanging parts, but I was safe on the top.

When I was young, I just knew that there was some sort of monster under my bed. I am not sure what sort of beasty it was but I KNOW that it was there. I could not sleep if my feet or arms hung over the sides of the bed. If I did, 'it' would get me. Even now, decades later, I cannot bring myself to drop an arm over the side of the bed... just in case.

I use to believe that monsters lived under my bed. If I put a foot down they would grab it... what else would happen I don't know.... so I would have to jump from the edge of my bed to the throw rug by the door.... They were only there at night. So if I had to go to the bathroom it was a real adventure.

I too had the belief that monsters would come to get me while i was sleeping but if i hid under my blanket, they wouldnt see me. But then i realised they could see the hump that was me. From then on out i imagined that the monsters were really dumb and didnt comprehend that.

I believed that monsters were out to get me - but I didn't have the belief that they weren't interested in my head. I knew they would get any bit sticking out from under the covers, so I would keep my head under the covers, and form a little air channel in the blanket so I wouldn't suffocate.

Okay, so when you go to bed you must have thought of monsters who only came out at night and do whatever to harm you when you're asleep. Who didn't think that only if you cover your entire body with the blanket (not including your head, they cannot do anything to your head), they can'y harm you? Who didn't realize a monster can flip your blanket over?

When I was little I was afraid of monsters at night. I thought they would crawl out from under my bed and eat any of my body parts that were not covered up by blankets except for my head. I figured that monsters wouldn't want to eat someone's head.
